This weekend, a group of Redditors appear to have found Julian Assange's OkCupid profile from 2006. This is a complete and utter distraction from the serious things going on with WikiLeaks' release of State Department cables, which is precisely why I call your attention to it. Cablegate has been a very serious affair with Assange playing the role of global hero and/or villain.

I like women from countries that have sustained political turmoil. Western culture seems to forge women that are valueless and inane. OK. Not only women!

We should just note that it's possible this isn't real. OkCupid may just be weird enough to do something like this as viral marketing. But the photos look real, the location is right, and the tone of the writing is pitch-perfect Assange.
